"Победа города Сочи — одно из самых значимых событий в истории современной России, это второй день рождения для Сочи", — заявил журналистам автор идеи, заместитель мэра города по подготовке к зимней Олимпиаде-2014, Алексей Храбан. 5 июля 2007 года уже объявлено властями Сочи выходным днём.
